Kringsjaa and sustainability

Our purpose in Kringsjaa is to help people build and manage property in a value-creating and sustainable way. This, together with the UN's sustainability goals, forms the foundation when we work with sustainability in Kringsjaa.

Our foundation

We have taken the UN's sustainability goals as our starting point when creating our sustainability strategy. In order to arrive at what we are going to work on, we have both assessed what our most important stakeholders are concerned with, as well as looked at what prerequisites we have to deliver within the various areas.

Our goal is to focus our efforts around what we do, building and managing property. We must contribute to building sustainably, ensure that those who work for us have good working conditions, and last but not least, promote responsible consumption and production in all our companies.

The Sustainable Development Goals are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. They address the global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace and justice. The 17 Goals are all interconnected, and in order to leave no one behind, it is important that we achieve them all by 2030. Sustainable Development Goals:

  • Protect labour rights and promote safe and secure working environments for all workers, including migrant workers, in particular women migrants, and those in precarious employment

  • We believe that the construction, operation and management of private homes, commercial properties and public buildings are the core of sustainable cities and local communities. We therefore have a special focus on the UN's sustainability goal 11.6, which states that by 2030 we shall contribute to reducing the negative impact of cities and local communities on the environment (measured per inhabitant), with particular emphasis on air quality and waste management in public or private auspices.

In Kringsjaa, this means that we will work to integrate good environmental promotion measures in the projects we are involved in, both with ourselves and our partners.

  • We must all ensure that we have responsible consumption and production, both as individuals and as a company. In the Østheim group, we are particularly concerned that we can contribute to this by reducing our amount of waste. We have therefore chosen sub-target 12.5, which focuses on significantly reducing the amount of waste through prevention, reduction, material recycling and reuse.

For Kringsjaa, this means that we must make strict demands on ourselves, and ensure good routines that ensure that the total consumption of materials etc. goes down, and that waste management becomes efficient and environmentally friendly.

Going forward

The sustainability work in Kringsjaa is something we focus on every day. Ethical, social and environmental considerations are well integrated into the daily operations, and our values of "solid" and "helpful" and "innovative" are the basis for everything we do.

We are clear about fulfilling all legal requirements and guidelines, and this is a natural part of our reporting routines. At the same time, we are aware that sustainability work in Kringsjaa is a continuous process that involves both learning, change and determination.
